DPWMA has finally reached the stage where the construction of speed-tables are going ahead.  The original idea of speed humps was cancelled by the City in favor of speed tables.  The difference is that speed tables serves two purposes namely (1) to slow down motorists and (2) to allow pedestrian crossings.  Speed tables only address speeding.

Unfortunately, speed limit signs have served no purpose to most of the Drivers in the area.   Speeding has become a serious concern on Timeball Boulevard, posing dangers to pedestrians and other vehicles.

Two speed tables will be installed in Timeball Boulevard.  One of these will be next to the bridge at Shannon Canal, while the second will be between the Ilanga Building and the DPWMA office.

Please note the following:

  • Commencement date will be on the 13th of February 2017 at 8:30am ( Process will take 2 to 3 weeks due to the concrete pouring that will require 2 to 3 days to cure)
  • Contractor will construct one section at a time, only one lane will be opened for traffic and a Flag Manager will be on site to control the traffic during the day.

We would like to thank you for your support and cooperation during this period.
