CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – Storm Water Pipe Installation
Part of the Promenade Construction, the same Contractor has been awarded the contract to install new Storm Water pipes along Mahatma Gandhi Road Extension and Canal Quay Road. The Contractor started off by working next to the Sand Pumping Station in August 2018, which allowed vehicles to still use Mahatma Gandhi Road Extension as normal. This did not require the road closure due to the Sand Pump Station being isolated. The initial stage is in progress and the Contractor is moving on to closing off the road for Phase 1 Traffic Management plan to be activated.
Kindly note that the Contractor is currently closing off the road at the Circle on Mahatma Gandhi Road Extension to allow for the construction of the storm water pipe installation. The necessary signs/delineators will be put up to guide the traffic.
